Dean of Student Support Services provides support, advocacy and engagement opportunities for students from an early informational stage to beyond graduation. We answer questions; provide information about, and referrals to, campus resources; assist in students’ adjustment to the Institute; promote activities that address student needs, concerns, and interests; and help students in resolving problems of any of issue they may be experiencing.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. ADMISSIONS

  • To improve the admissions quality with well-defined policy.
  • To disseminate and comply with all the rules and regulations of admissions as prescribed by Govt. and statutory agencies.
  • To create a brand value and awareness about the institute.
  • To provide best counselling to students and parents who come to seek admission.
  • To guide the students and parents in making effective decisions.
  • To guide admitted students to complete the admission procedure like paying fees, getting roll numbers., getting hostel admission, getting ID-card, fulfilling eligibility criteria etc.
  • To assist the students and to interact with the parents during admissions.
  • To improve facilities from the feedbacks got from parents and students during admission counselling.
  • To issue notifications for Spot admission & Category-B (Management Quota) admissions with the guidelines issued by State Government.
  • To submit the admissions list to the authorities, seem deemed and seeks for their approval.
  • To issue Notifications for Spot Admissions under A-Category and for admissions under B-Category as per the guidelines issued by TG- EAPCET convener and Telangana State Council of Higher Education and concerned Competent authority.
  • To submit the list of Admissions made by the college to the concerned competent authorities and get approved.

2. SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships represent financial aid that does not require repayment. Both the Central and State Governments have established a wide range of scholarship schemes to support students’ educational expenses. Approximately 60% of students have benefitted from these funding opportunities. Students may apply for scholarship, subject to the respective scheme’s criteria and guidelines.

Scholarship categories include:

  • State Government Scholarships
  • Central Government Scholarships
  • Non-Government / Private Scholarships
  • Institutional Scholarships and Endowment Awards

3. EFFECTIVE ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT

The Institute has formally established the Attendance Monitoring Committee (AMC) to ensure a consistent, transparent, and systematic approach to monitoring student attendance. The committee is responsible for upholding discipline, accountability, and academic integrity by implementing effective attendance management practices across all departments.

Objectives

  • To systematically monitor and ensure regular attendance of students in all academic activities, including lectures, laboratories, and tutorials.
  • To identify, address, and resolve attendance-related issues promptly.
  • To promote awareness among students regarding the significance of regular attendance for academic success and overall professional development.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain, verify, and periodically update attendance records for all students across departments.
  • Identify students with poor attendance and initiate timely counselling or corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with faculty members to ensure accurate and uniform attendance marking procedures.
  • Communicate attendance-related concerns to parents/guardians when necessary.
  • Formulate and implement strategies to enhance student attendance and minimize absenteeism.

Implementation Procedure

  • Conduct periodic meetings to review attendance data, discuss challenges, and recommend interventions.
  • Collaborate with faculty and department coordinators to track students requiring additional support.
  • Prepare and submit attendance summaries to the academic administration at scheduled intervals.
  • Organize awareness programs and orientations emphasizing the importance of regular attendance for academic performance and professional preparation.

4. SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP)

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is required to monitor a student’s academic progress to ensure they are successfully completing the courses needed to complete their program of study. To remain in good academic standing, the students must maintain a minimum Cumulative grade point average (CGPA), complete the courses in which they register, complete their program of study within stipulated period of study / within a reasonable period of time.

The following standards are applied to all students taking courses for credit to evaluate Satisfactory Academic Progress.

  1. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): Students must maintain a CGPA that is greater than or equal to 6.5. Fail courses do not get calculated in the GPA.
  2. Completion Rate (Pace): Students must successfully complete 65% or more of all attempted courses.
  3. Number of times attempted for course clearance (ACC): Student may make several attempts at the same course throughout his/her existence in the programme, but preferable would have completed in a maximum of 3 attempts.
  4. Maximum Time Frame (MTF): Complete the program within Five (5) years of the scheduled program length of four (4) years.

5. STUDENT LEARNING SUPPORT HUB (SLSH)

The Student Learning Support Hub (SLSH) provides institute-wide academic and student support services aimed at enhancing the overall learning experience. The Hub integrates various support units including Student Learning, Student Services, Accommodation, Health and Wellbeing, Financial Aid, Scholarships, and Information Technology Services.

Its primary objective is to equip students with the skills and resources necessary to become independent and successful learners.

General Support Services

1. Study Skills Support

  • Provide training in study skills and learning strategies to improve academic performance to the students accommodated in college hostel.
  • Offer comprehensive study guides and learning resources to help students develop essential academic competencies.
  • Expert support is available in the following areas:
    • Academic English and professional writing
    • Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Statistics
    • Understanding course content and assessment requirements
    • Locating, evaluating, and utilizing academic information

2. Health and Wellbeing

  • Access self-help resources and peer-support platforms.
  • Medical consultations through partner hospitals (e.g., Aurandathi Hospitals).
  • Confidential, short-term psychological counselling.
  • Mental health and wellbeing workshops and awareness programs.

3. Finances and Scholarships

  • Information and guidance on financial aid schemes, scholarship programs, and student loan options to support academic progression.

4. Student Equity and Disability Services

  • Provides academic and access-related support for students requiring ongoing assistance due to equity or disability considerations.

5. Accommodation

  • Assistance with applications for institute-owned hostel facilities.
  • Guidance on exploring off-campus accommodation options in the vicinity.

6. INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE

Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (IARE) has established collaborative partnerships with several leading universities across Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States of America. Collaborating with other universities and sharing knowledge as well as resources with universities and academic communities throughout the world is an important part of Institute of Aeronautical Engineering’s international mission. Through its strategic partnerships with the universities around the globe, the institute offers student exchange programs for B.Tech, M Tech and MBA students, as well as opportunities to Full Semester Internship (FSI).

Full Semester Internship (FSI).

Eligible students may undertake a full-semester internship at a partner university during either the VII or VIII semester, subject to meeting the following requirements:

  • CGPA of 7.5 or above
  • No active backlogs
  • Possession of a valid passport

Note: Students are expected to demonstrate strong proficiency in English
