Competencies are the characteristics that some needs to perform a job or role. Sometimes, that characteristics is specific to an industry or organization, but they are much more than skills. The competency building division provides periodic training for faculty and students for updating their knowledge and skill.
The goal of CBC division education is to assess student capabilities properly in order to see true performance and monitor/implement solutions toward their educational/professional goals.
The IARE has been collaborating with companies and research institutions to undertake consultation and research projects. The institute is referred to these based on specific project proposals presented by faculty members. These projects necessitate a significant amount of scientific and technical participation from the Institute's researchers and staff. The IARE CBC implements these administrative matters and manages all of the faculty's tasks and duties.
VISION
CBC seeks to establish an environment that will enhances the professional and academic standards of our faculty as well as students. The purpose of our program is to develop into well-rounded individuals capable of taking on new challenges.
MISSION
Increase students' chances of finding a placement by organizing practice sessions and giving boot camps on a variety of value-added courses.
Transform students into technical and software engineers capable of facing challenges on both a personal and professional level.
OBJECTIVE
Skill Development: Build and enhance specific skills that are crucial for job performance. This could include technical skills communication skills, problem-solving skills and more.
Performance Improvement: Address skill gaps to improve overall performance. Students who understand the required skills are more likely to excel in their roles and positively contribute to the institute goals.
Adaptation: Develop adaptation by building a wide variety of skill sets that allow individuals to navigate and excel in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
Succession Planning: Identify and nurture students with the skills required for future job roles. Succession planning guarantees that a pool of appropriate individuals will exist to fill important jobs as needed.
CBC focuses on the following activities
Bootcamps and Top-Ups
Niche Skills
Industry Support Labs
Industry Person in Teaching Courses
Long Hackathons and Codeathons
Consultancy
FUNCTIONS
The primary functions of the CBC include
Trains students to industry standards for entry-level jobs.
Prepares students with on-the-job skills.
Helps students practice and develop on-the-job skills before gaining employment.
Learner and demonstrate their ability to do something.
FRAMEWORK
The Importance of Competency Building
A well-structured competence building assists both students and professors, as well as the institute, to grasp exactly what is expected of them and what abilities are required to accomplish in their particular jobs. If a student or faculty member lacking in any area, the CBC can assist them in choosing which talents they should work on developing.
BENEFITS OF HAVING CBC
A CBC offers the following benefits
Provides clear expectations: Competency building establishes a clear definition of the technical abilities expected of students as well as teachers at the institute.
Helps in detecting skill gaps: CBC can highlight areas where a student or faculty member isn't meeting all of the needed capabilities for their role.
Encourages professional development: Students and teachers can work on any identified skill gaps to improve their professional development.
CBC PROCESS
To create a competency building the division will take the following steps:
Define the framework's objective: Determine the framework's short- and long-term goals.
Gather information: Relevant competencies will be obtained for each placement by analysing the job itself or by asking recruiters.
Scheduling the CBC framework: The framework will be developed based on information given by the employer.
Implementation: The CBC will communicate the framework's objectives. Training will be provided to assist in the filling of skill gaps in their particular areas of expertise.

SKILL GAPS
Conducting a skill gap analysis facilitates the identification of the abilities required for academic goals, providing guidance for faculty and student development activities, and hiring practices.
NICHE SKILL LEARNING TRACKS
Developing AR/VR Solutions: Augmented reality (AR) overlays digital elements onto the real world, enabling new experiences and ways to access data. Advances in computer vision, object recognition and IoT capabilities are allowing AR to deliver even more relevant and interactive overlays tailored to an individual user's environment and needs. Virtual Reality (VR) teams can access data, tools, use realism helped by the integration of AI with the help of eye and facial tracking which is poised to blur the line between digital and physical worlds.
Advanced Robotics: Advanced robotics integrates artificial intelligence into robots so they can perform intricate tasks and autonomously interact and respond to real-world complexities. Leveraging deep learning and neural networks, these robots can process vast amounts of data, adapt to dynamic environments and make real-time decisions.
Blockchain: Blockchain can offer transparent, cost-effective and secure ways to store, monitor and transfer value — such as information, data and assets. It can help enable data integrity and safeguard against cyberthreats.
5G Technology: The fifth-generation (5G) communication standard provides quicker connectivity, ultra-low latency, and more capacity, revolutionizing the way we communicate and connect. The 5G cellular system combines improved mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low latency communication, and massive machine type communication. 5G communication technology has the potential to revolutionize many industries, including robotics, transportation, healthcare, and agriculture.
Cloud Application Development: Explore the principles, technologies, and architecture underpinning cloud computing, understand various cloud service models and deployment strategies, and gain hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms, enabling you to design scalable, cost-effective, and resilient cloud-based solutions for modern businesses and applications.
Cyber Security: The program provides comprehensive training in various aspects of cybersecurity, including cryptography, API security, encryption, software security, network security, identity and access management, cloud security, hardware security, malware analysis, ransomware, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and more. By completing this program, students will be well-equipped to address the ever-evolving challenges of cybersecurity and protect organizational assets from cyber threats.
Data Analytics: This program provides comprehensive training with the combination of statistical, mathematical, and programming techniques that use Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and advanced analytics to uncover insights from data and automate data processing activities, such as data discovery, data cleansing, data preparation, data analysis, and data visualization.
Software Engineering and Testing: Software engineering (SE) combines fascinating areas of fundamental and applied study. The present program covers a wide range of topics, including software testing, web application verification and validation, and embedded software. The primary focus of the Software Engineering laboratory is on testing and verification of a wide range of software.

CBC of Institute of Aeronautical Engineering meets regularly once in a month and takes up issues related to boot camps, top up programmes, skill up and skill bridge programmes, faculty development programmes etc.
The CBC committee members meet at the start of each academic year to deliberate on proposed new ideas, proposals, and enhancements needed for the coming term. A clear action plan is also addressed in order to implement the committee's recommendations.
Consultancy
Industrial Consultancy refers to the practice where institute collaborate with industries to provide consultancy services which include technical expertise, research and development support , training programs and problem solving solutions. At IARE some of the departments are recognized as research centers and each department has established research facilities to conduct academic research and industrial consultancy.
During last five years the institute has carried out industrial consultancy activities worth of 81.3 Lakhs.
