INDUSTRY COLLABORATIONS and KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER (ICKT)

The Industry Collaboration Center is dedicated to bridging the institute and industry by supporting the institute in advancing the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and practical application. It explores diverse collaboration models, promotes the efficient transformation of research outcomes, and fosters an innovative industrial ecosystem. By strengthening partnerships, the Center drives innovation-led development and contributes to regional economic growth and social progress.

Promotion of Research Projects / Products - Facilitating the successful implementation of academia–industry collaborations and research projects/products, actively promoting the translation of research findings into industrial practice, and enhancing their contribution to society.

Transformation of Research Findings – Promoting the application of engineering research and innovations in real-world industrial settings, strengthening the integration of industry, academia, and research, and driving technological advancement and societal progress.

Implementation of Knowledge transfer – Innovative knowledge transfer philosophy encompassing industry-academia-research-application-investment.

Closing the research-industry gap can be a win for both sides that also benefits society in general. It involves exchange of knowledge and ideas, to enhance capabilities and technologies.

Sometimes industry drives research - a business may have a question or problem that IARE experts can resolve through commercial research.

Sometimes research drives industry - discoveries, inventions and innovations can be commercialised as new products or services. In the process, intellectual property (IP) may be created.

End-to-End Process of Knowledge Creation and Utilization:

From conceptualization to real-world application, IARE’s end-to-end knowledge ecosystem bridges academia and industry. We enable seamless knowledge creation, validation, and deployment, fostering innovation, thought leadership, and tangible business and societal outcomes.

The figure illustrates how learning energies research, which leads to practical application and industrial production. The ICKT bridges academia and industry, promoting the seamless transformation of research into real-world innovations. This process drives technological advancement, economic growth, and societal progress.

Learning encompasses talent development and training, coordinated by ICKT and its Training Center to build industry-ready skills

Research captures the research labs generating new discoveries and IP with strong industry collaboration potential

Application represents translational programs and joint schemes that turn research into use cases with partners, supported by institute IP calls focused on commercialization potential

Production highlights technology licensing, startup incubation, and institute industry partnerships that convert prototypes into products and services
