Laboratories

The department of Information Technology has 11 fully Air-conditioned computer labs, 255 latest Intel core i3/i5 computers running Linux/Windows Operating Systems and a server room containing Rack servers (blade server). The department is providing sufficient computing facility for the students offering excellent training in computer programming. All these computing resources are inter-connected with high speed intranet having 100 Mbps Internet connectivity to the outside world. The lab is adequately supported by peripherals like DMP, Printers, Scanners and more.

    Database Management Systems Laboratory

    The requirement of modern days is to have an automated system that manages, modifies and updates data accurately. This is achieved by a Database Management System (DBMS) in robust, correct and non redundant way. Through DBMS laboratory, students will get knowledge about the database environment and a way to manage data.  Students are made familiar with Oracle Software. Students will also be trained to do certifications in Oracle and .Net Technologies.

    Data mining and Web Technologies Lab 

    The main purpose of this lab is to understand the need for Data Mining and advantages to the business and scientific world. The validating criteria for an outcome to be categorized as Data Mining result will be understood. Students get a clear idea of various classes of Data Mining techniques, their need, scenarios (situations) and scope of their applicability and also learn the algorithms used for various types of Data Mining Problems. The objective of the web technologies lab is to develop an ability to design and implement static and dynamic website.

    Case Tools and Software Testing Lab 

    The purpose of the case tools and software testing lab is to understand the application of case tools, which focuses on software engineering activities further it, enables a clear understanding and knowledge of the foundations, techniques, and tools in the area of software testing and its practice in the industry. This lab will prepare students to be leaders in software testing.

    Computer Networks Lab Through Linux 

    Networking is the major necessity in this era of advanced Information Technology. Keeping this in mind, IARE has teamed with CISCO Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, to become a Local CISCO Networking Academy. In addition to the curriculum, students will acquire skills of computer networking. They develop programs related to network programming and network communication in different computer languages on various platforms. This laboratory also has various network simulators. Upon successful completion of the course and a final examination, student becomes certified as a CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA). CCNA is an internationally recognized qualification that provides the students with the opportunity to enter employment in the computer networking field.

    Software Engineering Laboratory 

    In this lab, Students will be capable to acquire the generic software development skill through various stages of software life cycle. Student will also be able to ensure the quality of software through software development with various protocol based environment.

    Design and Analysis of Algorithms Laboratory 

    Students will be able to solve problems which are algorithm based by using various design techniques. They will be able to apply prior knowledge of standard algorithms to solve new problems, and mathematically measure and compare the performance of different algorithms. They will be able to produce concise technical writing for describing the solutions and arguing their correctness.

    Object Oriented Programming Through Java Laboratory 

    This lab reinforces understanding of basic object oriented programming concepts (objects, classes and subclasses, methods) and their expression in Java. Students are able to analyze and design a computer program to solve real world problems based on object-oriented principles and able to write simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) interfaces for a computer program to interact with users, and to understand the event-based GUI handling principles.

    Operating Systems Laboratory

    The purpose of this lab is to provide a general understanding of the structure and key functions of the operating system. Compare and contrast the common algorithms used for both pre-emptive and non-pre-emptive scheduling of tasks in operating systems, such as priority and performance comparison.

    Mobile Applications Development Lab 

    Students know the components and structure of mobile application development frameworks for Android and windows OS based mobiles. Understand how to work with various mobile application development frameworks. Learn the basic and important design concepts and issues of development of mobile applications. Understand the capabilities and limitations of mobile devices.

  • Computer Programming Laboratory 

    Computer Programming laboratory is designed to familiarize students with the basic components of programming, so as to be able to initiate the students into the discipline of Programming. It aims to start of the development of problem solving ability using computer programming. This course teaches not only the mechanics of programming, but also how to create programs that are easy to read, maintain and debug. Students are introduced to the design principles for writing good programs. Also, they will develop their ability to design, develop, test and document structured programs in C language. The expectation is that students will become self-sufficient in learning any programming language on their own thereafter.

    The main purpose is to study fundamental data structures, their design, implementation, efficiency and in solving problems.

    Project & Research Lab

    This Lab has provided a platform for students and research associates to implement research based projects under the guidance of faculty members. The facility has been utilized by B.Tech and M.Tech students extensively for their project and research work. The outcome of the project has resulted in publications in various journals and conference proceedings (both at national and international level). The centre has provided a learning platform for both students and faculty.
